Our Programs are comprehensive and effective. The school’s curriculum is delivered through systematic and explicit instruction, with a diversity of stimulating activities provided through hands-on teaching programs. Programs are built on evidence based practices and for the needs of the individual child. Innovative enrichment programs are conducted across the school for high potential and gifted students. In the sporting area, a diverse range of activities and opportunities are provided to develop student skill and participation levels, leading to state-wide competitions. In the Creative Arts, Wideview offers its students band, dance, drawing and drama groups. Environmental Education is a committed whole school approach. Debating and Public Speaking are also offered.
Our staff are passionate, committed and highly experienced. Staff work in collaboration with each other to create engaging, stimulating and meaningful programs for the six core subject areas. Staff take on a variety of additional roles to be able to provide the best educational outcomes and opportunities. They strive for excellence in practice and regularly participate in Professional Learning opportunities.
Our parents and community engage collaboratively with the school and have long standing connections to Wideview Public School. Our school is supported by a strong and caring P&C who work in partnership to create a welcoming space. Our P&C coordinate the school canteen, uniform shop, Band and Wideview Out of School Hours Care (WOOSHC). Parents volunteer their time regularly, with care and compassion, in classroom and outdoor learning opportunities.
Our School Excellence Plan focuses on two initiatives; Explicit Teaching and a Holistic Approach to Well-being. Within these initiatives, the school delivers activities and programs that drive student engagement, success and high expectations for our staff and students.
Our student attendance results each week are strong. We are committed to working with students and families to ensure students attend school every possible day they can.
