Student Voice

What is Student Voice

Student Voice recognises that students should be active participants in their learning and school community. It values giving students meaningful opportunities to share their perspectives, contribute to decision-making, and help shape learning experiences, fostering engagement, agency, leadership, and a sense of belonging within the school environment.

SRC: Student Representative Council

The SRC is comprised of students in Years 2-6. Students self-nominate and share their interest to represent their classmates. Two students from each class are elected by their classmates. Elected students meet three times a term with the supervising teacher and plan fundraisers and charity events for the school to be involved with each year.

In 2026, Mrs Fullagar will continue working with the SRC students.

Election Process: Elections take place at the beginning of the school year. Elections are run in classes. Students write the names of two classrooms they would like to represent them. The top two students in each class are elected as the student representatives for their class.

Student-Led Initiatives

Throughout the year, spontaneous opportunities occur where students come up with ideas that they take to the SRC or to the teaching staff.

We love to allow our students to make meaning from their learning or share their ideas.

As examples, we had students creating drawing competitions, lunchtime activities for younger students or peers of the same age and SRC fundraising ideas stemmed from students.

We’ve participated in an initiative within our school’s network which facilitates Student Voice, equity and creates an opportunity for students to be ambassadors of their learning. This opportunity continues into 2026.
